New WordPress security webinar with Patchstack
According to the State of WordPress Security 2025, 7,966 vulnerabilities were discovered in the WordPress ecosystem in 2024, most of them in plugins. That’s a 34% increase compared to the previous year. And even more concerning: 33% of those vulnerabilities didn’t receive an official patch in time.
For anyone managing WordPress websites, this means more alerts and information to monitor, more security decisions to make, and more urgency and risk, often without a clear strategy behind it.
At the same time, security is no longer just a technical concern. It’s something clients increasingly expect agencies and freelancers to handle proactively as part of their maintenance service.
That’s why we decided to join forces with Patchstack, the leading WordPress threat intelligence company. Since announcing our partnership, the new Patch & Protect add-on has already become a key part of many agencies’ security stack, helping reduce risks and exposure time to vulnerabilities.
We’ve also received many questions along the way:
- How does Patch & Protect actually work?
- How does it fit alongside other security tools agencies already use?
- What makes it different from traditional WordPress security plugins?
To answer all of this, we felt the best format was a practical, open webinar for professionals who manage WordPress sites every day.
Security Strategies for WordPress with Modular DS & Patchstack
On Tuesday, February 17, we’re hosting a free webinar with Héctor de Prada, cofounder of Modular DS, and Lana Rafaela, Product Marketing Manager at Patchstack.
During the session, we’ll cover:
- How Patch & Protect works and how it differs from traditional WordPress security tools and plugins.
- What virtual patching is and why it’s key to block vulnerabilities before they’re exploited, even when no official update is available.
- The role of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and the new minimum cybersecurity requirements for anyone managing WordPress websites.
- How to integrate security into your WordPress maintenance service and turn it into an added value for your clients.
Save the date: February 17, 2026, at 3:00 PM UTC (4:00 PM CET).
Bring your questions
During the webinar, we’ll leave dedicated time for Q&A. You can submit your questions in advance or upvote the ones you’d like us to answer via Slido.
Our goal is for you to leave the session with a clearer, more practical approach to WordPress security, using the tools you already rely on without touching code or adding unnecessary plugins.
And if you work with WordPress but Modular DS isn’t part of your stack yet, this session will still give you valuable insights into security strategies you can apply right away.
