How does Modular DS work?

Modular DS works through a WordPress plugin called Modular Connector. This plugin links your WordPress installation with our platform and acts as a secure bridge between them.

Getting started is easy. To add a WordPress site to your Modular DS dashboard, just install the plugin on your site and enter the public and secret keys generated in your account. Or, if you prefer, you can let our system handle the setup automatically by providing your WordPress username and password. Don’t worry, your credentials are never stored and are only used to establish the connection.

Once connected, you’ll be able to easily monitor, update, back up, and manage your website from Modular DS.

How is Modular DS different from other solutions?

Modular DS was born out of years of hands-on website management experience by its founders, first as freelancers and later running their own agency. That background makes user experience one of the platform’s key differentiators: everything is designed to be intuitive and easy to use from day one. How do backups work in Modular DS?

Modular DS offers a complete backup system for your WordPress sites. You can schedule automatic regular backups or create a manual one whenever you need. Backups can be full or incremental, depending on what you want to save.

If you ever need to restore a site, you can choose to recover everything or restore only specific parts, like files or the database, right from your Modular DS dashboard.

All backups are securely stored in the cloud, fully GDPR-compliant, and kept for 60 to 90 days depending on your plan.

Is Modular DS safe?

Yes. Security is a core priority at Modular DS. Connections between your WordPress sites and our platform are authenticated using the OAuth2 protocol, which generates tokens that expire and can be revoked at any time for added control and safety. Your WordPress login credentials are never stored, ensuring that your data remains private and under your control.

In addition, every request exchanged between Modular DS and your website is signed using JWT (JSON Web Tokens), a mechanism that helps verify the authenticity of each request.

Does Modular DS comply with the GDPR?

Yes, Modular DS complies with European data protection regulations. All our servers and databases are hosted within the European Union, and we do not —and will never— sell your data to third parties.

How many websites can I manage with my plan?

It depends on the subscription plan you choose or currently have. The Freelance plan allows you to connect up to 10 websites, the Starter subscription supports up to 35, Business includes 75, and Enterprise goes up to 125 websites.

All plans include flexible limits (overage). This means you can exceed your plan’s base limits and add extra websites, users, or storage without changing to a higher tier, paying monthly for the additional usage.

What kind of support does Modular DS offer?

We offer chat and email support seven days a week. If you’re moving from another tool, our team can handle the migration for you, including setting up backups, uptime monitoring, and other key features, completely free of charge.

Should you ever face a complex or time-sensitive issue, we’re always open to jumping on a quick call to get it sorted. Our priority is to make sure you feel supported at every step.

What if the plan I chose isn't right for me?

You can switch to a different plan or billing cycle at any time, and you’ll only be charged the difference if the new plan has a higher price.

If you’re not happy with your plan for any other reason, you have 15 days from the date of purchase to request a full refund. Just let us know, and we’ll take care of it.

Can I end my subscription at any time?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time. You’ll still have access to all your plan’s features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your subscription won’t renew.
