Modular DS raises €615K in funding

We’re celebrating a very special week at Modular DS.

On top of launching Modular DS 2.0, we’re excited to share that we’ve just closed a €615,000 seed funding round.

And I wanted to take a moment to share what this milestone means for us — how we got here, where we’re headed next, and most importantly, to say THANK YOU.

Where it all began

David and I have worked in the digital space since we graduated over 10 years ago. From day one, we’ve always had the same dream: to build a product that could help thousands of people worldwide.

It’s a pretty common story among founders: identifying a pain point people struggle with and deciding to build something meaningful to solve it, even if it’s not directly tied to their background.

In our case, we were lucky enough to spot a need close to home: website management, something we grew up doing together since we were 12 years old, back in our school days. That’s how Modular DS was born.

We’ve been building it for over 3 years now. Since then, we’ve had one clear mission: to create the best tool for helping agencies and freelancers manage their websites more easily and efficiently.

Going global

Until recently, most of our growth had been in Spain (where we’re from) and Latin America, where sharing the same language made it easier to connect quickly.

But that changed earlier this year when our launch campaign on AppSumo helped us cross borders, reaching users far beyond our usual markets.

Hearing feedback from professionals across the globe — many discovering Modular DS for the first time — was amazing. Some even shared that they had been looking for a tool like ours for a long time. It was one of those moments that made us realize we were into something special.

That’s why this funding round feels like a natural next step. We’re excited to keep growing and take Modular DS to the next level, aiming to become the go-to website management and maintenance tool. We want every agency and freelancer to know that Modular DS is here to make their daily work easier. And to help us get there, we need the right resources.

The road ahead

So, what are we planning to do with this funding?

We’re focusing on two main goals:

• Keep working on making Modular DS even better. We want it to be the most complete and user-friendly solution out there.
• Expand internationally so more web professionals can discover Modular DS and join us on this adventure.

We feel fortunate that this funding round came together quite smoothly, as we could count on the same investors who supported us in late 2023. A group that includes notable Spanish entrepreneurs like Juan Pablo Tejela (CEO of Metricool) and Juan Carlos Celaya (CEO of Factoría Digital), alongside investors like Mathieu Carenzo (one of the first backers of Glovo and Signaturit) and the international VC fund Draper B1. We also received institutional support from ENISA and Sodical.

It means a lot to know that the people who first believed in us are still backing us now, especially because many of them are founders who know firsthand how challenging this path can be — and their support makes all the difference as we keep moving forward.

This funding round is another step on our journey, and a milestone we are proud to celebrate because of everything we’ve achieved. But what truly makes us proud is the brand and the team we’re growing day by day.

Today, Modular DS stands for innovation, progress, hard work, approachability, and community. And none of that would be possible without the team behind it. Many of them have been with us for over 4 years, back when Modular DS was still just an idea. Seeing their commitment, excitement, and passion for what we’re building together… that’s what makes it all worthwhile.

We’re currently a team of 7 people working full-time on Modular DS and expect to be 10 by the end of the year. We’ve already welcomed the first addition to our team, Reyes Martínez, who joined us as Content Lead. And over the next few months, we’ll be hiring across marketing, sales, and development.
