When you’re managing client sites, catching a vulnerability or any other issues early is a core part of the maintenance work you do.

That’s why we’re releasing a set of improvements that help you both detect vulnerabilities and prioritize the security alerts you get from Modular DS. Because knowing at a glance which alerts are urgent and which can wait, without losing them in the rest of your daily notifications, matters as much as catching them in the first place.

Here’s what’s new.

Vulnerability scanning improvements

With this release, we’ve added MySQL/MariaDB database scanning to your vulnerability checks and introduced a severity score for detected PHP vulnerabilities. Together, these give you a more complete view of the risk on each site and make it easier to prioritize what to fix first.

We’ve also improved a few details in the Health & Vulnerabilities section:

  • Site data now updates automatically as soon as a vulnerability is fixed.
  • The “Check now” button correctly reloads all the information within a few minutes.

Notification updates

We know that getting several near-identical emails because the same vulnerability affected multiple of your sites wasn’t exactly ideal. But luckily, that’s a thing of the past.

Those alerts are now grouped into a single email, where you can see which of your WordPress sites were affected.

What’s more, you can now choose to receive notifications only for high-severity vulnerabilities (scoring over 75/100), helping you quickly spot what’s actually urgent.

And if you’re using the Patch & Protect add-on, a new notification lets you know if there’s a connection issue with Patchstack on any site where it’s active.

We hope all of this means less time going through alerts one by one, and more time on the ones that actually need your attention.

Beyond what’s covered above, this Modular DS release includes compatibility with new premium plugins and several bug fixes and performance improvements across the platform.

Stay tuned for more updates in September!
