FAQs about the Modular DS free plan change

Why is the Modular DS free plan being discontinued?

Modular DS has evolved a lot over the last few years, and today it’s a more complete tool for managing and maintaining WordPress sites professionally.

Keeping a free plan with a different interface and feature set from the rest of the product adds complexity and limits our ability to keep improving the platform.

The free trial model allows us to simplify things and offer a better experience for everyone from the start.

How does this change affect me if I don’t have any websites connected to Modular DS?

If you currently don’t have any WordPress sites connected to Modular DS, you can still access your account for now. However, since the old free plan will no longer be available, you’ll need to move to one of Modular DS’s current plans before May 31, 2026, if you want to keep that account.

You can do that by starting a free 14-day trial before that date.

If you’d rather not make the transition and your account is still on the old free plan with no connected sites by then, it will be automatically deleted due to inactivity.

If that happens, you’ll still be able to come back later by creating a new account.

What do I need to do to keep my current account?

You just need to log in to your Modular DS account and start the 14-day trial for any of our current plans before May 31, 2026.

You won’t need to add any payment details to do that.

What can I try during the free 14-day trial?

When you start your trial, you’ll be able to choose which Modular DS plan you want to try.

Most of them include key features such as:

Smart automated updates, safe updates, and Update Copilot.
Backups and restores.
Uptime monitoring with notifications via email, WhatsApp, Slack, or Discord.
Security scans and early vulnerability detection.
Database optimization.
Scheduled and pre-maintenance reports.

That way, you can get a clearer picture of how the platform works and decide whether it’s a good fit for what you need right now.

What happens when the 14-day trial ends?

Before your trial ends, you’ll be able to decide whether you want to continue with that same plan, switch to another one, or not continue with a paid subscription.

If you decide not to move forward with a plan, just keep in mind that you’ll lose access to any connected websites and all Modular DS features.

If I decide to subscribe after trying one of the current Modular DS plans, do you offer migration support?

Yes, we offer free migration support to help you move your sites from another tool.

We can also help you set up things like backups or uptime monitoring, so everything is ready and you can start working with Modular DS without interruptions.
