Cómo mejorar la relación con tus clientes en proyectos web. 7 consejos para diseñadores y desarrolladores.

If there is one thing any web designer or developer learns over the years, it is that the success or failure of a web project depends, to a large extent, on the relationship established between the client and the professional.

A good relationship with your clients is not only important to keep them happy but also to improve the quality of the project, reduce wasted time, and increase the likelihood of future collaborations.

In this article, we are going to see some key tips that you can start using right now to improve the relationship with your clients in any web design and/or development project.

In several cases, I have learned them the hard way, so I hope to save you from more than one disappointment.

Make sure you understand their goals and how you can help

This is and should be the start of any web project. Your first job is to make sure you understand your clients’ goals and how you can help them achieve them.
Often, clients have a vague idea of what they want and expect you to help shape it, especially considering your experience with other projects.

To achieve this, it is important to ask the right questions and listen carefully in an initial initial briefing meeting.

Don’t just ask what they want, but also why they want it. Understanding their goals will help them feel that you are working in collaboration with them and that their vision is important to you.

Oh, and be honest. If you think a decision doesn’t make sense, let your client know. Because even if it’s their decision, if it doesn’t work, they might ask you for explanations in the future.

Knowing what they are looking for will give you a much clearer idea of how you can help them and even create a plan in your mind to do so.

Showing interest and learning about their business will begin to establish a foundation of trust from the client towards you.

Clearly define the project scope

Another important tip to improve the relationship with your clients and, above all, avoid problems, is to define the project scope clearly from the beginning.
Once you have done that initial briefing to understand their goals and how you will assist them, you must document the scope of work as specifically as possible.

This is usually done in the web proposal and later in the contract. It should also include the budget, deadlines, and any other relevant aspect.

Having clarity about the project scope will help avoid misunderstandings and problems later on. It will also allow you to set realistic expectations with your clients and ensure that both parties agree on what will be delivered at the end of the project.

Communicate clearly and regularly

Here are two key aspects that go hand in hand.

If you want to maintain a good relationship with your client and avoid misunderstandings and wasted time, you must communicate with them regularly and in a way that they understand.
